Jody B. Everette

Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, Jody was taught early on that there is no substitute for a good education and hard work. With this guiding principle, Jody obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Criminal Justice, summa cum laude, from Georgia State University in 2001, graduating first in his class. In 2004, Jody earned his law degree (J.D.) from the University of Georgia School of Law.

After law school, Jody was given the prestigious honor of being selected to serve as a Clerk and Staff Attorney for the Superior Court Judges of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit. During this clerkship, Jody worked directly with the Superior Court Judges, providing advice and counsel on a wide range of legal matters, from personal injury and contract cases to cases in which the State of Georgia sought to impose the death penalty.

Thereafter, for almost seven years, Jody worked at one of the Southeast’s most well-respected insurance defense law firms. Jody was involved in every facet of civil trial work and tried numerous cases to both judges and juries throughout Georgia. During this time in his legal career, Jody defended large corporations, trucking companies, insurance carriers, and their employees in personal injury and insurance lawsuits. In addition, Jody represented drivers and employees of one of the nation’s largest trucking companies for all criminal and traffic-related charges.

In 2014, Jody founded the Everette Law Firm. His areas of practice include personal injury, insurance disputes and bad faith, criminal defense, and all aspects of divorce and family law. Jody enjoys all facets of trial practice and, from the very first day, prepares each case for trial knowing that this strategy consistently provides the best results for his clients.

Jody has tried numerous cases to verdict in both state and federal courts. As a member in good standing of the State Bar of Georgia, Jody Everette is admitted to practice in all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Jody has been consistently recognized as one of the top young trial lawyers in the State of Georgia. For the last several years, Atlanta Magazine and lawyers from around the State have nominated Jody as a Rising Star Super Lawyer. This honor and distinction is limited to the top 2.5% of attorneys practicing in the State of Georgia under the age of 40. In addition, Jody was chosen as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer in the State of Georgia by The National Trial Lawyers. This prestigious honor is reserved for America’s top trial lawyers in the State of Georgia that exemplify superior qualifications, trial skills, and results. This honor is given by invitation only and based, in part, on peer nominations from fellow lawyers in the community.

Jody is actively involved in the State Bar of Georgia and his community. Jody is a member of the State Bar of Georgia (General Practice and Trial Law Section; and, Family Law Section). In addition, Jody serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Georgia Department of Human Services.
